First Things First

   John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
   Nicodemus, a man of the Pharisees, a ruler of the Jews, had come to Jesus at night to ask Him some questions. He acknowledged that Jesus was a teacher come from God. Jesus knew his questions before they were ever asked and replied with the above verse. Jesus goes on to further explain in verese 6, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit." 
   We were all born, first physically, but in order to see the kingdom of God, Jesus tells us that we must also be born Spiritually, which is the second birth. The Lord tells us in John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John explains in John 1:12-13 - "But as many as received Him, (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God."

   Becoming a child of God by being born of the Spirit is the only way that any of us will be able to spend eternity in Heaven when our time in this life comes to an end.  We all need to understand that there is no other way, no plan B. This may be an entirely new concept to some people; but that is what the word of God says.
   We are "Born Again" when we accept that Jesus Christ IS the Son of God, WAS BORN of the virgin Mary, DID DIE on a cruel Roman cross for ALL of our sins, WAS BURIED in the tomb, DID indeed RISE on the third day, and HAS ASCENDED into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father.

   Acts 2:21 says, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

   Would you like to be assured that when you die, you WILL spend eternity in Heaven with God?
   All you need to do is simply pray, "Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I receive you as my personal savior. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Thank you for loving me so much that you died for me so that I can have eternal life with you.  Amen"
